MMFF Online Experience

Since the pandemic started, a lot of things have changed. Shopping and grocery is done mostly online. There are no huge gatherings allowed in order to contain the spread of the virus. Instead, people would usually do gatherings over Zoom, Google Meet, Messenger, or Microsoft Teams. Even if cinemas in the malls are not yet operational, MMFF (Metro Manila Film Festival) 2020 is not cancelled.

MMFF is now online and the movies are streaming via Upstream. I just watched Fan Girl with my siblings and nephews. All you need is a TV equipped with Google Chromecast to have an enjoyable viewing experience.

Just like in the cinemas, there is a short film shown before the full-length film. The difference here is that you can pause if you need to get a bathroom break. It’s also cheaper because you can get to stream an MMFF movie for Php 250 and you can watch it your family.

One thing that cannot be avoided though, similar experience in the cinemas, is the unnecessary noise while watching a movie. Nevertheless, this is the safest way to access entertainment.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Throwback your Playlist

I just watched the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 this weekend. I loved the soundtrack of this film, just like the first one. Hence, I searched for the Vol. 2 mixtape. I found one on YouTube. However, I wanted it to come from an official source. During my search, I found out about a Disney and Spotify collaboration. I visited this website to generate a retro playlist based on my selected Spotify playlist. The playlist is now named Coldplay!!!- Vol. 2. It has 20 tracks from various artists. My playlist has songs from Queen, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Sex Pistols, Led Zeppelin, and more.

Listen to the Guardians of the Galaxy – The Complete Mixtape at Spotify.

Windows 95 was installed on an Apple Watch

Someone was able to install the legendary Windows 95 computer operating system by Microsoft on a tiny smartwatch called Apple Watch. The result? Well, probably the smallest full-blown PC.

Nick Lee, a developer, posted in Medium and YouTube the magic he was able to do showing the operating system running on his Apple Watch complete with the Start button. Despite the superior hardware for the old OS to enjoy, it’s painstakingly slow.

You can know more about how Nick was able to port the Win95 to the Apple Watch through his blog post. He can navigate the OS on the Watch with a few swipes and tap to move the mouse.

Release of the magnetic charging dock is yet to be announced but it is expected to be on sale around $100 or roughly Php 4,800.
