LG PD233 NFC Pocket Photo Printer

This little pocket printer from LG is supposed to be a companion device for their smartphones. The idea is you’re able to instantly print photos taken by your Optimus G Pro or LG G2 by just tapping the phone on the pocket printer, courtesy of NFC.

The device is pretty self-explanatory and very simple to use. It is almost the same size as some of the portable HDD you see around, just a little thicker. It has a built-in battery pack so you can practically take it anywhere.

The printer can connect to any Android smartphone or iPhone via Bluetooth. Just download the LG Photo Pocket app and use it to manage or edit the photos before you print them.

The Pocket Photo uses an ink-less printing system but you will have to also use a special paper to do so (uses Zink photo paper 2.0). The printer comes with 10 pieces of printing paper out of the box and you can also buy more at about Php300 per pack of 10.

One thing we noticed though is that the white pattern on the surface of the printer is heart-shaped (and this is the only color variant) so we’re inclined to think that this printer is specifically targeted/marketed to the ladies who love to take selfies.

Here’s the complete set of features by the pocket printer.

LG PD233 Pocket Photo Printer specs:
USB 2.0
Bluetooth 2.0
NFC
Micro-USB
USB Host
Li-Po 500mAh battery
40 second printing time
640?1224 pixels maximu print resolution
1.5 hours charging time
20 prints per full charge via Bluetooth
15 prints per full charge via USB

Photo quality is between decent to good but not as good as your digital prints by those dedicated photo printers you buy for home use. The charm of the LG PD233 is more on portability and instant prints that you’d want to make and give out right away.

The LG PD233 Pocket Printer is available in stores and retails for Php6,990.
