LG announces L Series III Kitkat-powered smartphones

LG recently announced the third generation of their L-Series entry-level to mid-range Android smartphones that runs Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box – the L90, L70, and the L40.

The LG L90 is the most high-end of the pack with a 4.7-inch IPS qHD display at 234ppi, 8GB of internal storage, 8 megapixel rear camera, 1.3 megapixel front-camera, 3G/HSPA+ connectivity, and a 9.7mm body. Powering the device is a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, 2,540mAh removable battery, and Android 4.4 Kitkat.

Next is the L70 that sports a 4.5-inch IPS (800 x 400) display at 199ppi, 4GB of internal storage, 8MP or 5MP rear camera (depending on market), VGA front-facing, 3G/ HSPA+, and a 9.5mm body. Running under the hood is a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, 2,100mAh removable battery, and Android 4.4 Kitkat.

Last, the L40, features a 3.5 inch (480 x 320) display at 165ppi, 4GB of internal storage, 3 megapixel rear camera, 3G/HSDPA+, and a chunky 11.9mm body. Under the hood is a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, 512MB of RAM, 1,700mAh or 1,540mAh battery (depending on market), and Android 4.4 Kitkat.

Pricing and availability of these smartphones are yet to be announced but they will make an appearance at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 in Barcelona later this month.
