LG shows off world’s slimmest full HD LCD panel

LG has recently introduced the world’s slimmest full HD LCD panel for smartphones that measures 2.2 mm thin and features better “grip-ability” and superior viewing experience.

LG’s new 5.2-inch full HD LCD panel claims to be the slimmest and narrowest among existing full HD LCD panels for mobile devices. It is 2.2 mm thin with a 2.3 mm bezel and uses LG’s Advanced One-Glass-Solution (OGS) technology. LG believes that this will help produce devices that are easier to grip and lighter in weight.

The display’s 1080 X 1920 pixels utilizes Red, Green, Blue (RGB) sub-pixels and is capable of up to 535 nits of brightness at maximum with “perfect performance” even in strong outdoor sunlight conditions.

Although the panel’s size coincides with the Optimus G2′s rumored specs, LG provided no hint if the upcoming flagship will sport the said display technology.
