Relonch Camera unveiled at Photokina

Lazada Philippines

Amidst the ton of new cameras and lenses being announced in this year’s Photokina is a nifty case called Relonch Camera which turns your iPhone 5/5S and iPhone 6 into a mirrorless camera with a fixed f/2.0 lens.

Relonch Camera

Yes that’s right, a mirrorless camera and not just your ordinary clip on accessory that extends the focal length or gives your iPhone’s lens a wide-angle view. The contraption has a built-in APS-C sensor, similar to the ones found on a typical non-full frame DSLR camera.

It comes with its own shutter button, a pair of slots to put in a lace or neck strap and the same battery that powers the contraption also doubles as an emergency power source for your iPhone.

Technically speaking this USD499 device is, in itself, a full-fledge mirrorless camera without a viewfinder or an LCD display and lacks a slot for a storage expansion. Thus, your iPhone will serve as the camera’s display and a place to save all the snaps you take with your handset (or this camera for that matter).

The company that unveiled the Relonch Camera is looking to make the device available in the latter part of 2015, but is now accepting pre-order for the device for $499.

Spigen releases iPhone 6 4.7″ cases ahead of Apple announcement

The rumored iPhone 6 is scheduled to be announced on September 15 but popular case manufacturers like Spigen have started shipping cases for the iPhone 6 ahead of time. We received 4 different iPhone 6 4.7″ cases last night that gives us better appreciation of the upcoming iPhone.

The cases are your typical iPhone cases with varying design and materials (labeled as Thin Fit and Ultra Hybrid). Half are hard polycarbonate shells while the other half are soft gel cases.

Comparing the port holes to the iPhone 5S, it looks like the iPhone 6 will have re-shuffled physical buttons. The sides of the iPhone 6 looks like it’s also rounded, like the iPhone 5C.

The volume controls and the lock buttons are at the same spot. So are the 3.5mm audio port and the Lightning cable port. The power button has been moved from the top right corner down to the right side of the device.

The port holes for the camera are still the same and the speakers looked like they will be on just one side of the bottom corner.

Here are more close up photos of the 4 different cases from Spigen.

So far, what we have here is for the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 but we’re also looking forward to get the cases for the 5.5-inch variant.
