Estar Takee 1 could be the first holographic smartphone

There are a lot of smartphones that catch our attention because of obscure features. The Estar Takee 1 definitely belongs to this category as it claims to be the world’s first holographic smartphone – exactly like the devices we usually see in movies.

Estar Takee 1 known specs:
5.5-inch Full HD display @ 1920 x 1080 resolution
2GHz MediaTek octa-core processor
2GB RAM
64GB internal storage
Available in black and white
Wrapped in 18k gold (variant)

Their video explains that the smartphone produces holographic images and uses four front-facing cameras to track the movement of the eyes for visual optimization. This should sound familiar to some of you since Amazon’s Fire Phone utilizes the same technology for creating 3D effects on the screen. If this is indeed the case, we think the holographic image popping out of the display is enjoyed only by the owner of the phone as other people in different viewing angles may see a different image.

In addition, hand gestures are also recognized by the cameras making playing games and manipulating images using your fingers possible. We’re still a bit sceptical on the claimed features of the Takee 1 until we see a raw demonstration of it. But if this technology indeed exists, we can finally send holographic messages to our friends a la Princess Leia in Star Wars.

Amazon’s smartphone with four cameras for 3D holograms

It has been long-rumored that Amazon will be coming out with a new smartphone and one of its main features is the four front-facing cameras that produces hologram-like images without the use of 3D glasses.

According to sources, Amazon’s upcoming phone “would employ retina-tracking technology embedded in four front-facing cameras, or sensors, to make some images appear to be 3D, similar to a hologram.” In addition, this technology was also reported to sense movement when the screen is moving closer to a user’s face. Doing so makes the phone zoom into images automatically and manipulation of both text and messages depending on the positioning of the device is possible.

Based on the reports, it seems like Amazon’s upcoming smartphone wouldn’t cost that much since the company aims to profit from customers acquiring services from Amazon using their devices, and not make money out of the devices itself. This is backed up by another feature of the phone that can recognize photos you take with its camera. After that, the phone looks for a matching product on Amazon so you can begin ordering it.

As of now, little is known regarding its official name and even what OS it will be running. The phone is set to go on mass production starting June and should come out sometime in late September — just in time for Christmas shopping and yes, same time as iPhone 6‘s arrival.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan wowed the public by appearing as a hologram that is roughly 10-feet in height a la Star Wars. The speech was pre-recorded since he won’t be able to attend the political party meeting.

Without further ado, let’s be amazed how the Prime Minister utilize technology to make his presence more valuable.

So when will we see local public meeting like this? Sure it is fun and modern to witness but it must contain substantial material, not bragging rights.
