The QWERTY Galaxy may soon have a successor

If you think for one second that Samsung has forgotten about their QWERTY offering because of all the hype going for their all touch handsets, well think again. They may have something in store for fans of Android handsets with physical keyboard.

Dubbed as the GT-B7810, the handset is a revamped version of the Galaxy M Pro GT-B7800 that the South Korean company released in the last quarter of 2011. Blog of Mobile reported that the handset doesn’t stray far from its predecessor in terms of its innards.

It is said to receive a minor display upgrade from 480×320 to 480×360 but will retain its size at 2.8-inch. The main difference so far lies on the make of the handset which is said to be trading off the plastic exterior for a metal armor.

Other known specs about this handset includes a 1200mAh battery, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G/HSDPA capability and an option to expand the storage via MicroSD card. The processor and pre-installed OS remains to be told, but we have a hunch that it’ll be equipped with an entry-level dual-core processor and will run on ICS.
