Google unveils the HTC Nexus 9

Along with the new Nexus 6, Google also announced the Nexus 9 – an 8.9-inch tablet manufactured by HTC and will serve as a successor to the now ageing Nexus 10.

Prior to its official launch, the Nexus 9 has been the topic of numerous leaks and rumors pointing to a spec’d out tablet that is said to sport 5GB of RAM , an 8.9-inch display with a QXGA screen resolution resolution (2048×1536) and will be powered by a new NVidia Tegra K1 64-bit processor.

Sadly, the Nexus 9 falls way short of the rumored 5GB RAM as the slate only comes with 2GB. However, the rumor-mongers were spot on with their speculations about the tablet rocking the aforementioned display and chip.

Some of the other notable features of the Nexus 9 include two front-facing speakers called BoomSound which HTC has included on some of their notable handsets. Apart from that, the tablet is equipped with an 8-megapixel autofocus camera on the back and 1.6MP on the front, both of which are paired with an f/2.4 lens.
