The Smart Boy Development Kit by Hyperkin turns Android smartphones into handheld consoles that can play Game Boy and Game Boy Color games. You just have to plug it into any appropriately-sized Android phone running KitKat 4.4.4 or above via microUSB and you’re good to go. The retro case also features a fully functional D-pad as well as A and B keys and runs games featured on the original Nintendo Game Boy and Game Boy Color cartridges.

The kit is currently available for pre-order from the official Hyperkin online store, with a price tag of $60 (~Php2,800) and a planned release date on December this year.

New Nintendo 2DS design will remind you of the 90’s

Do you still remember your Game Boy Pocket or Game Boy Color with translucent casing? Even the Game Boy Advance inherited the see-through design. Now, Nintendo is bringing it back through the incarnation of Nintendo 2DS.

The new colors of the 2DS are “Crystal Red” and “Crystal Blue” and will be launched with the new Pokemon versions, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, for $99.99 or roughly Php 4,500 starting on November 21st. Local availabity is yet to be determined.
