Devices that will soon get Jellybean update

It’s been little over 5 months since Google released the latest iteration of the Android OS and since then, manufacturers have pushed the update to their eligible devices. Now here’s a new set of devices from different manufacturers which will be getting the update in the next coming weeks.

Motorola Mobility

The Google owned handset manufacturer has recently released a table which contains the handsets and tablets that will be updated to Jelly bean. As with other upgrades, the roll out date will be different depending on the country and carrier. These are the handsets in APAC (Asia Pacific) that will get the Android 4.1 with corresponding target roll out date.

MOTOROLA RAZR (XT910 / XT910S / XT910K) – Planned update, but no specific target date
MOTOROLA RAZR HD – Update rolls out starting this month
MOTOROLA RAZR M – Update rolls out by Q1 2013 starting in Australia
MOTOROLA RAZR V – Planned update, but no specific target date

Motorola Mobility is also looking to upgrade their other handsets such as RAZR MAXX, DROID 4 and DROID BIONIC in the future, but didn’t mention any target date for the update.

Samsung

The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Wi-Fi joins the ranks of its 10-inch siblings Galaxy Note 10.1 and Nexus 10 as Samsung announces that it’ll be updated to Jelly bean. The roll out started since last week with British users getting the update first.

With the update well on its way, we’re expecting the local roll out will come in the next coming weeks. Unfortunately, for those of you who owns the data-enabled version of the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, you have to wait a little longer for the official update.

ASUS

It hasn’t been that long since ASUS unveiled the second PadFone, but the company has already released the Jelly bean update for it.

PadFone2

According to our source, the overall feel of the UI is pretty much the same as it was when it’s running on ICS. The nifty features that the Android 4.1 update brings to the ASUS PadFone 2 includes updated notification bar, Google Now and Google offline voice typing.

Update: @Football4PDA, a trustworthy source for HTC leaks, has tweeted a handful of HTC handsets which will be updated to Jelly bean.

To keep things a bit interesting, the devices mentioned on the tweet were concealed behind its corresponding codenames such as Fireball, Evita and Totem. Thankfully our source decoded each handset’s true identity and provided the list of these HTC phones.

HTC

Evitare – One X+ LTE
Evita – One XL
Fireball – Droid Incredible 4G LTE
Jewel – EVO 4G LTE
K2 – One SV
Totem C2 – One VX
Ville – One S
Ville C2 – One S C2
Valente – Droid DNA/J/Butterfly/

Unfortunately, @Football4PDA didn’t mention when the update will start making its way to our beloved handsets or which one will get it first. Looking at the brighter side though (and assuming that the source is right), it’s good to know that HTC is trying to bring their devices up to speed with other Android handsets by updating it to Jelly bean.
