Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo unofficially lands for Php27,990

Announced in February for certain emerging markets, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo is the hexa-core version of the Note 3 from last year. It was first introduced in India for Php29,000 but found its way to the Philippines via Villman.

It was also the first time we’ve heard of the hexa-core chip being used by Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo specs:
5.5-inch Super AMOLED display @ 1280 x 720 pixels, 267 ppi
Hexa-core Exynos 5260 chipset with two 1.7GHz Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.3GHz Cortex A7 cores
Mali-T624 GPU
2GB RAM
16GB internal storage
up to 64GB via microSD card
4G LTE (Band 1,3,5,7,8,20)
Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac dual-band 2.4GHz + 5GHz, VHT80
Bluetooth 4.0 A2DP + LE
WiFi Direct, DLNA
ANT+
NFC
IR Blaster
8MP rear camera with LED Flash, 2MP front camera
1080p video recording @ 30fps
GPS with A-GPS support + GLONASS
Li-Ion 3,100mAh battery
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
148.4 x 77.4 x 8.6mm (dimension)
162.5 grams (weight)

Surprisingly, Villman’s retail price of Php27,990 is lower than the SRP it got when it was introduced in India.

We’re not sure if the Galaxy Note 3 Neo will be officially released by Samsung in the Philippines soon but we’re guessing it could be lower than the Php28k that Villman is peddling it for.

An early peek at the rumored Galaxy Note 3 Lite/Neo

SamMobile has recently posted a picture of what is believed to be the Galaxy Note 3 Lite/Neo (SM-N750) besides the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005).

The frontal shot shows that GN3 Neo (left) is a tad shorter than the Galaxy Note 3 due to its smaller display. Meanwhile, the picture of its back tells us that the rumored handset inherits the faux-leather backing of its big brother.

Lucky for us, we also have a pretty detailed specs sheet to go along with these leaked images courtesy of the folks over at GSMArena. According to the pictures taken by an unnamed tipster, the Galaxy Note 3 Neo will have a very similar feature set to the Galaxy Note 2.

That includes a 5.5-inch S-AMOLED display with 720p resolution, an 8MP rear camera and a 3100mAh battery. In fact other than the dimensions, everything else is identical to the previous Galaxy Note model.

Everything, except the processor. Based on the leaked catalog, the Galaxy Note 3 Neo will run on an unannounced “Hexa-core” processor which consists of 1.3GHz quad-core processor and a 1.7GHz dual-core chipset.

SamMobile’s tipster backs up this claims and stated that the GN3 Neo will indeed run on Cortex-A7 Exynos 5260 Hexa-core SoC together with a Mali-T624 GPU. The tandem delivered a very promising result when their informer ran the AnTuTu Benchmark test on it.
