Gov.ph launches Foreign Aid Transparency Hub (FAiTH)

The Philippine government has recently launched the country’s online information portal for international calamity aid and assistance called “FAiTH“, which stands for Foreign Aid Transparency Hub.

FAiTH provides detailed information on the help that has been given to the country from friends and partners abroad in response to the destruction caused by Typhoon Haiyan / Yolanda. In addition, the online portal also tracks how these donations are used, if assistance is to be coursed through government agencies.

“This is only one aspect of our government’s response to Typhoon Yolanda. While helping our people recover from the tragedy and rebuilding destroyed communities and infrastructure are our foremost priorities, we also know that it is important to reinforce the relationship we have with our people and with the international community.” President Aquino said in a statement published on the Official Gazette. “We will do this by ensuring that the aid and assistance pledged for Filipinos will be used only to benefit Filipinos.”

At the time of writing, total foreign aid pledged is at Php11.65 billion or equal to USD271.03 million. View the full report by visiting the FAiTH portal here.
