Epson launches new SureColor textile printers

Epson Philippines announces not one, not two, but three new SureColor textile printers which are the company’s next-gen textile dye-sublimation printers. They were unveiled at the recent “Print Your Passion” fashion show.

From the three models that were launched (SC-F6270, SC-F7270, and SC-F9270), the SureColor F9270 is the most advanced and boasts speed, precision, and durability on top of having the original dual 1.5L ink tank system. It was, in fact, used by Avel Bacudio who is Asia’s Most Influential Designer for the aforementioned fashion show.

“Digital prints really make a difference; I am no longer constrained by traditional limitations. I can do a lot to express myself in new ways,” said Avel. “My new designs featured tonight were printed by Epson’s digital textile printer. For me, Epson is the best fabric printer to showcase the beauty of the Philippines.”

During the show, Avel brought his designs to life by using the textile printer to showcase its capabilities.

“Our mission at Epson Professional Imaging is to always provide expertise in digital printing and make it possible for creative designers and other professionals to get their ideas out and directly on to their materials with high quality, speed, and minimal cost, unlike traditional methods. The F9270, with its faster speed provided by its dual print head, as well as our future endeavors, will continue to focus on this mission,” said Epson Philippines C&I Head Pamela Albar.

Epson POS printers compliant with BIR’s latest regulation

Last month, Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) banned the use of thermal printers for business establishments and individual taxpayers to comply with the regulation requiring the preservation of book of accounts, like official receipts, for 10 years.

The reason behind this is that thermal printouts starts to fade within a week or two, thus making them impossible to store for a decade. In line with this, Epson Philippines is offering solutions to registered taxpayers with the use of dot matrix Point-of-Sale (POS) printers.

It’s flagship model, the TM-U220 (pictured), is the best selling among their line-up. It features fast and two-color printing for businesses and the like. While the TM-U950, is a 2.5 station for large POS systems. Other models include: TM-U295, TM-U590, and TM-U675.

Thermal printers use thermal heads to imprint on thermally coated papers. This method is quick and quiet unlike dot matrix printers that have tiny pins mounted on the print head and use ink ribbons which is slower compared to the former and produces noise. Although, having a lasting receipt would be better any day. A 3-year window is given for taxpayers to shift to non-thermal papers for keeping.

Below are some of its key features:

  • Track daily steps — built-in accelerometer counts every step
  • Count daily calories — identify how many calories you’ve burned throughout the day
  • Lap timer — keep track of your time, lap by lap
  • Supports popular running apps — easily transfer your data to MapMyRun, Strava and others
  • Long battery life — seven days of fitness tracking and 10 hours with GPS on
  • Small, lightweight and water resistant — won’t interfere with your workout
