Cheaper DJI Phantom 3 Standard now at $799

Last April, DJI announced two new drones in their line-up. However, the DJI Phantom 3 Advanced model has a price tag of $999 while the Professional costs $1,259, both of which are pricier than ever.

This week, DJI has announced a cheaper alternative, the Phantom 3 Standard.

DJI Phantom 3 Standard specs:
12.4 megapixel camera with Sony EXMOR 1/2.3 sensor
FOV 94° 20 mm (35 mm format equivalent) f/2.8 lens
ISO: 100-3200 (video) 100-1600 (photo)
Shutter: 8s -1/8000s
microSD up to 64GB (8GB included)
3-axis gimbal
Max speed: 16 m/s (ATTI mode, no wind)
Max Altitude Above Sea Level: 6000m
GPS
4,480mAh battery (~23 mins. flight time)

What is missing compared to the Advanced and Professional versions are the absence of the downward-facing camera, the LightBridge for live-streaming, and the ability to connect to GLONASS satellites.

Video recording mode:
UHD: 2.7K: 2704 x1520p 30 (29.997) fps
FHD: 1920x1080p 24/25/30 fps
HD: 1280x720p 24/25/30/48/50/60 fps

The DJI Phantom 3 Standard retails for $799.

We’ve had an older DJI Phantom drone last year but that model needs to be attached to a GoPro in order to shoot stills and record videos.
