Valve plans to add 12 more currencies to Steam

Twitter user @Arminposts has posted a picture of Valve’s presentation which shows the company’s plan of adding 12 new currencies into the Steam platform including Philippine Peso.

Other currencies that are in the pipeline include Indonesian Rupiah, Japanese Yen, Malaysian Ringgit, Mexican Peso, South Korean Won, Thailand Baht and Ukrainian Hryvnia, as well as Australian, Canadian, New Zealand and Singapore dollar.

The addition of these local currencies in the system will be crucial for the growth and popularity of Steam in other countries. Moreover, Steam users will no longer have to reach out for a calculator every time they need to make a purchase, not to mention they no longer have to pay for conversion charges.

As of the time of writing, Valve hasn’t disclosed when these new currencies will be added to the system. Nevertheless, this is a great move from Valve; one that will definitely pay off for them in the long run.
