See you at Rexona Run 2013!

I remember joining the run the first time in 2011 and this year will only be the second am running, haha. Cheers to that… better twice than never!

From the looks of it, it’s really a must to join this year’s run scheduled on Sunday, October 20 because it promises to be different. There will be live bands! From the first gun start at 3a.m., live performances will be scattered around the race track, adding a very different take on running. The 5k race will have performances by Delta Street, Sandwich, The Diegos, DJ Mia Ayesa, Deuce Manila and DJ Nina. The 10k race will get the chance to run to Funk Avy and DJ Khai. While the 21k race will see all performances, as well as the finale concert of Rico Blanco, Elmo Magalona and DJ Mars Miranda. How much more elating and exciting can that be?

So yeah, the organizers are spot on when they describe the event as “multi-sensorial.”

“It’s the the Philippines’ first ever after-midnight run where live music pushes people to run further and culminates in a party at the finish line. The whole thing is inspired by the insight that when you run to the beat of the music, you run faster, you go further, you’re energized to do more,” said Mar Corazo, Rexona brand manager.

To register, visit Riovana stores located in Bonifacio Global City and Katipunan, as well as Tobys outlets in the SM Mall of Asia and SM North Edsa The Block. Online registrations are also accepted on www.runrio.com. Registration is ongoing until October 13, 2013.

On another matter, Rexona is also collaborating with Rappler for the first Do More Awards. The awards have eight official categories: The Challenger, The Artist, The Innovator, The Luminary, The Social Entrepreneur, The Civic Hero, The Digital Trailblazer, and the Global Pinoy.

Addressing a press crowd at Las Flores in Bonifacio Global City, Rappler Founder and CEO Maria Ressa said: “The timing couldn’t be better because of the things we just saw at #millionpeoplemarch. Technology now allows us to harness people and organize social movements to cause real change in the world. That’s the goal with the Do More Awards.”
