Apple has recently released the latest iteration of its mobile platform which, above anything else, is geared towards addressing some of the bugs that were present on the previous versions of iOS.
Apart from the usual bug fixes and claimed performance improvements, the only other thing worth noting on the most recent firmware update that the Cupertino-based firm has seeded is the optimization that they’ve done which, based on the update’s changelog, will “Reduce the amount of storage required to perform a software update”.
Since we’re on that topic, it’s worth mentioning that the iOS 8.1.3 update is only 247MB in size, which is actually pretty huge compared to the previous updates (8.1.1 and 8.1.2) but is comparatively smaller compared to IOS 8 which was a major update rather than a nominal one.
The update is available via iTunes or OTA. To check via OTA just go to Settings > General > Software Update. You can also update your iOS device via iTunes for PC or Mac. Make sure to back-up your device before proceeding so that you don’t lose your files in case something goes wrong.
