Samsung Galaxy A3 & A5 suffer from weak signal

Samsung has long been criticized for not using metal on their flagship devices’ body. But just when the South Korean giant finally succumbed to the overwhelming request of their patrons and released the Galaxy A3 & A5, they face another obstacle on their new metal-clad handsets – Weak Signal Strength.

According to the test that high-tech.mail.ru conducted, the two smartphones have weaker cellular signal compared to the Samsung Galaxy S5 which sports a plastic body.

In order to be methodical about their approach, the site tested all of the three handsets (Galaxy S5, Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5) in the same location and using the same SIM cards. Based on the app that they used for testing, both of the unibody handsets fared worse than its plastic sibling.

Galaxy A3 Signal Issue

As PhoneArena pointed out, the signal strengths that both the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 yielded during the test are, in a sense, unacceptable. Furthermore, the site also pointed out that since the parameters of the test (location and SIM card) are the same across all of the devices, “the difference in reception could only stem from the choice of premium materials for the A5 and A3.”

The Samsung Galaxy A3 and A5 have recently been launched in the country, though the official retail price has still not been announced as of the time of writing.
