Acer is notable nowadays for its aggressive promotion with its new smartphone and tablet lineup across all forms of media. Among those launched along with all other Acer gadgets in the country last August 30 is the E39, more known as the Liquid E700, packed with three sim slots and a huge battery capacity. We got a unit up for review, and here are our first impressions with the product.
The E700’s packaging is noteworthy; the box is printed using soy ink, making it more environment friendly and easier to recycle. Inside the package consists of the basics: the phone, a pair of flat cable earphones, a USB cable and a wall charger. Acer is generous enough that they even provided a flip cover for the phone inside the package too.
The E700 looks very sophisticated and classy. It is covered in glass, save for the two parts where the speakers are placed. You can also find the 2-megapixel camera and its own flash, and the notification LED light in the top speaker grill. At the bottom is the microphone.
Flip the device over, and you’ll see the 8MP rear camera and flash, and a clickable button in a removable burgundy red matte finished back plate. Acer calls the back button the AcerRapid, a programmable shortcut button that also acts as a camera shutter. The insides were really neat; slots for a microSD card and three micro-SIM cards can be seen.
The volume rocker and the microUSB port is placed on the right side, On top of the device are the headphone jack and the power button.
We ran the smartphone on an initial test using our standard benchmarks, and here’s what we got:
