The Vico-Marcus 4 has a boxy form factor. Just like the HP f310 dash cam that we reviewed, it sports a rectangular case but this one has a thicker body compared to HP’s. The entire shell is made of plastic with the sensor sticking out in the middle.

At the back is where the 2-inch display is found for adjusting the settings and reviewing the recorded clips. It has 5 buttons for emergency recording, normal recording, options, sound, and power. They also act as navigational buttons when on the settings menu.

Sony Xperia Z4 rumored to have two display variants

A Taiwanese website claims to have gotten their hands on a leak, revealing some of what we can expect when the Sony Xperia Z4 arrives. This includes two variations for the kind of display to be available.

According to eprice.com there will be improvements with the hardware, but there will also be elements that will be maintained for the upcoming flagship. It was reported that the Xperia Z4 could have two kinds of displays — a Full HD TRILUMINOS screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution or a QHD screen with 2560 x 1440 resolution. The leak also states that there will be a new specialized waterproof microUSB port to address the leak issues previously surrounding it.

As for the overall design it’s likely that the Z4 would still maintain the previous omnibalance and metal frame design of its predecessors, continuing the classic look of the Xperia lineup.

In terms of specs, it was rumored to have a 5.2-inch display size, octa-core Snapdragon CPU, 4GB RAM, and an EXMOR RS CMOS sensor for its camera. Stay tuned as we draw nearer to its possible release date this MWC 2015.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 surfaces with alleged specs

As of now, here are the specs that we could see on the Galaxy Note 4:

5.7-inch QHD AMOLED display @ 2560 x 1440 resolution, 515ppi
Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 or Exynos 5433 processor
16MP rear camera (IMX240) with OIS
2MP front camera
UV sensor

Most of the specs rumored to make their way into the Note 4 gets somehow detailed on the display. It looks like Samsung is about to bump up its screen from Full HD to QHD with 2K resolution. Also, having more than 500ppi sounds like an eye-popping upgrade from the Galaxy Note 3’s  current 388 pixels per inch.

For the processing power, the two variants are most likely to come depending on the country. The Qualcomm-powered Note 4 is said to be available for North America, Korea, Chinese, and Japanese (maybe Philippines too?), while other countries could be getting an Exynos CPU with an Intel XMM7260 Cat.6 modem for connectivity.

Camera department looks to be upgraded as well. The new Samsung phablet might be arriving with 16 megapixels, in contrast to the previous 13-megapixel sensor. It also has improved features like optical image stabilization and ultraviolet sensor.

The purported Galaxy Note 4 is said to be bundled together with another device (like a Galaxy Gear) when it launches and we’re looking at around September for that. The Note 3 has been a capable device that’s why it’s exciting to see these specs for the Note 4 and what it has in store for everyone. But as usual, nothing is final until the company announces it so stay tuned for more details.

LG G3 display compared against Galaxy S5 and One M8

As we get closer and closer to seeing the LG G3, more and more details have been surfacing regarding the South Korean manufacturer’s next flagship smartphone. Just recently, LG itself has leaked the dimension of its upcoming handset and a mockup was made based on this to determine how big the display will be.

lg g3 display

The mockup puts the LG G3 side by side with other current flagship phones like the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the HTC One (M8). In terms of screen resolution, the G3 reigns supreme since we know that it will be sporting a qHD display with 2560 x 1440 pixels, while the two only sports Full HD at 1920 x 1080 resolution.

The LG G3’s 5.5-inch display is undoubtedly larger than the S5’s 5.1-inch and One (M8)’s 5-inch screen, and you might think that this is just way too big since it’s almost as big as the Galaxy Note 3 phablet’s 5.7-inch panel. Although this may be the case, the mockup shows that the One (M8) is even taller than the G3. LG managed to do this by widening the display to make use of more space, while also reducing its bezels to a minimum.

What we’re seeing here is that even though LG equipped the G3 with a far larger display than its peers, it looks like it won’t be that hefty and will still be manageable with one hand. They’ve also managed to squeeze in a bigger 2K resolution into its screen so we can expect the G3 to have one impressive display when it’s officially released.
