iPhone 6S will reportedly have 2GB RAM and Apple SIM

It’s been reported that the next iteration of the iPhone (most likely called the iPhone 6S) and the bigger iPhone Plus would have double the RAM than their current versions. They are also reported to ship with an included Apple SIM.

A person familiar with Apple’s future plans and have previously provided reliable information indicated to AppleInsider that the next batch of iPhones will have 2GB RAM. This could make the handset perform better and faster while switching between apps, although it could suck more power from the battery. And if you’ve been an iPhone user then you know how battery life is a prevailing issue. Hopefully Apple will also improve the battery efficiency of their upcoming iPhones.

In addition to the double RAM installed, the next iPhones could also ship with an Apple SIM included. It has been previously implemented on the iPad Air 2 and now the company could be considering having it pre-installed with the handsets. For the unfamiliar, having an Apple SIM lets users sign up for mobile data plans from any participating carrier. They could do so without having the need to go to carrier stores, but by simply going to their Settings app and enrolling without long term contracts. Users could also switch to different providers at any time, although we strongly doubt that it would be implemented here.

As for the bigger RAM, will you be ditching your current iPhones for it? Stay tuned as we wait for other news on the next Apple smartphone.
