If you’re planning to travel and looking for really great deals, we recommend checking out the 20th TravelTour Expo at the SMX Convention Center this weekend. The annual fair, organized by the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) in cooperation with the Department of Tourism – Tourism Promotions Board, features 532 booths from the major airlines, hotels, resorts, travel agencies, tour operators, national tourism agencies, embassies and more.
We visited the first day of the expo yesterday and it was packed so we recommend going here when the gates first open at 10 a.m.As of our last canvass, the PAL booth offered $600++ fares to Los Angeles while you can go to Hong Kong via Dragonair for only $75. Needless to say, the budget airlines on exhibit like Cebu Pacific, Air Philippines and Air Asia were also deluged with crowds patiently waiting in line.

At the counter of ANA, have your photo taken in their photobooth for free wearing the uniforms of the pilot and flight attendant.

Visiting the expo is also an eye-opener since you get to know about little-known destinations showcasing the beauty of the Philippines! Plus I got to know more about tours to exotic countries like South Africa, North Korea and Uzbekistan – things we could very well put on our bucket list.
For the last two days, the 20th Travel Tour Expo 2013 is open from 10 am to 9 pm on Saturday, Feb. 16 and from 10 am to 7pm on Sunday, February 17.
