Bacolod Accomodations: Tamera Plaza Inn

When I was in Bacolod recently, I stayed for 3 days and 2 nights at the Tamera Plaza Inn Hotel. The hotel is located along Lacson Street, just near the Tay Tung High School.

The room provided to me was complimentary in exchange for photoshoot project last October.

My room has two single beds and has window, which is good since I can let natural light pass through.

A/C is also in good condition. Hot shower is good too. Cable TV has kept me from going out of my room. Telephone has also kept me connected to my friends in Bacolod. Hotel lobby has a WiFi signal, which has allowed me to work even out of Manila.

I haven’t tried, their menu except for the breakfast offerings, which is complimentary for hotel guests. The breakfast is just OK.

The hotel is located right beside a Chinese High School, and is walking distance from Libertad Street where most jeepneys leading to the downtown area pass by. Tamera Plaza inn Hotel is approximately 5 minutes away from the downtown area, via jeepney, much shorter if taking a private car.

All you need to know about UK scholarships and studying in the UK

I’ve worked in the United Kingdom but I never experienced studying there. What an awesome experience it must be. This country, besides being the hub of monarchy, offers much in terms of cultural and historical exploration. Thankfully, one can learn much about studying in the UK through the British Council in the Philippines, including ways on how to get scholarships there.

From January to March, the British Council launches Education UK, a campaign meant to inform Filipinos on the educational opportunities in the United Kingdom.

Held last January 29 at the Makati Shangri-La was an Alumni Counselling Session that gave prospective students insider information on what living and studying in the UK is like. Forthcoming on February 19 at Top Shelf, Fullu Booked in Bonifacio High Street is a Funding Options Seminar which will tackle the financial aspects of UK education and the scholarships that can be availed. Finally, there’s the Education UK Exhibition on March 5 to 6 at the EDSA Shagri-La Hotel. Representatives from UK universities will be on hand to speak directly to interested students and the specific courses available.

Admission to the public is free. For more information, log on to the British Council website.

“ The lolos, lolas, and parents in our families deserve every bit of care and attention. The estimated foregone revenues of P54.4-million is a small loss to government, compared to society’s gains from improved health care and increased purchasing power that our elderly are bound to gain. The lost income is not a compelling reason to deprive our elders of the quality of life they deserve,” sabi ni Cayetano.
