My second San Juan, Batangas trip

Last Saturday was one hell of an adventure for us. We were supposed to leave early for Batangas when Kel’s driver’s license was given to another village visitor. We went to Sucat to look for the one who got his driver’s license. We were lost in a middle of nowhere asking where Zone 6 is (Purok 6). Apparently, any barangay could have a Zone 6.

Then, upon arriving there, we weren’t able to see him. Thus, we decided to go to a Notary Public at BF Paranaque. Of course, we’re just crossing our hands that there’s a Notary Public there. Luckily we found one along Aguirre Ave. Then, we headed to Jollibee Madrigal to have our lunch but we (me, Sha and John) ordered at ChowKing (located just beside Jollibee). The Jollibee branch there is one of the classiest branches that I have been to. They have some cushioned chairs. D

Marjorettes

After that, we headed to Batangas via SLEX and then, Star Tollway. When we arrived at San Juan, Batangas, most of the towns there are having there own Santacruzan that slowed us down. Still, we enjoyed the photographic moments there since the people there are not camera-shy. ) In fact, someone waved when I was taking their picture.

We went there without any booking made. And thus, we were on the look for resorts that have available rooms for us. After going to around 5 resorts, we found White Cove Beach Resort. We had two rooms for PhP 6,000 per night (weekend rates are apparently higher). We had fun playing Pusoy and Pusoy Dos over vodka. D

Life Guard in Action

On the next day, we saw some life guard action in one resort. It was my first time to see one. It was low tide then and we really have to go far for a swim.

Cafeno at San Juan, Batangas

On our way back home, we stopped by at Cafeno, a coffee shop that sells Putchok (Puto from Pangasinan), suman, and Kapeng Barako (Batangas Coffee) and a lot more. D We just looked around there but I bought some suman for pasalubong. D Then, we ate Lomi at TGIS Foodhaus. If you’re planning to go to Batangas, make sure you eat Lomi before going back to Manila. )

IM Reduces Workplace Interruptions

Ohio State University Prof Kelly Garrett has research that shows having Instant messaging in the workplace actually reduces workplace interruptions.

The recent study found that workers who used Instant Messaging on the job reported less interruption than colleagues who did not. The study challenges widespread belief that IM leads to an increase in disruption. Some researchers have speculated that workers would use IM in addition to the PHone and email leadingto increase interruption and reduced productivity.

Instead the research showed that IM was used as a substitute for other, more disruptive forms of communication such as the telephone, email and face to face converstation.
